First Racquet is always on the lookout for middle school and high school students across the U.S. who share our commitment to helping aspiring tennis players realize their dreams. Here are a few items to consider before joining our mission:
1. General Eligibility:
You should be a middle or high school student in the U.S., with a background in tennis strongly preferred. We particularly welcome high school and/or USTA junior players who have a UTR, USTA, and/or WTN ranking, with demonstrated dedication and skill in the sport.
2. Passion for Giving Back:
It’s essential that you have a genuine desire to support young athletes from underprivileged backgrounds. Our mission is to provide them with the opportunities they need to pursue advanced tennis training and practice on the court and educational opportunities off the court.
3. Volunteer Tasks:
As a member of First Racquet, your primary role will involve collecting tennis equipment—such as gently-used racquets, athletic apparel and shoes—and directing them to our headquarters in Houston, Texas, where we manage shipment to Angola.
4. Expanding Our Reach:
An optional, yet impactful, way to contribute is by organizing or hosting fundraisers via tennis tournaments or training sessions. These events are crucial for raising awareness and collecting both physical and monetary donations to support our cause further.
