The 2025 Yonex Charity Cup, held on May 10 at Missouri City Recreation and Tennis Center, was more than just a tennis tournament—it was a celebration of community, compassion, and the power of sport to change lives. Hosted in partnership with Yonex and led by Sylvia, the event brought together players, supporters, and sponsors to raise funds for First Racquet’s mission to expand youth tennis access in Angola and beyond.
First and foremost, we extend our deepest gratitude to Yonex for their generous support. Their commitment to empowering the next generation through tennis was felt in every match played and every child inspired. Thanks to their generosity, we’ve been able to bring tennis equipment, opportunity, and joy to kids who might otherwise never have the chance to pick up a racquet.
We’re also incredibly proud to share that three of our own First Racquet team members—Gabriel, Anish, and Daniel—competed in the tournament, embodying our values both on and off the court. Their participation highlighted our belief that leadership starts with action, and their presence added a special personal touch to this meaningful day.
From a small student-led initiative in 2023 to a growing nonprofit with a global footprint, First Racquet continues to thrive thanks to partners like Yonex and the incredible tennis community.
