First Racquet Labor Day Charity Tournament

First Racquet hosted the 2024 Labor Day Charity Tournament at Shadow Creek High School on September 1. The registration was overwhelming. We filled every available spot and had to decline some players on the waitlist. The day didn’t start smoothly—the rain delayed the starting time by 3 hours. However, the team did a great job squeegeeing the water off the courts and got them ready 1 hour after the rain stopped. Most of the pictures in this posted were taken by ourown in-house photographer – Minhao.

Despite being 3 hours behind schedule, the team showcased their strong execution, efficient court usage, on-court time management, and good communication with the players. We successfully completed all 72 planned matches.

Kudos to our high school seniors for their commitment. They arrived early to set up and clean up after the tournament. We appreciate their efforts, especially during their busy college application season. They truly set a great example for the younger members.

As always, our two youngest members, Stanley and Krish, did a fantastic job serving their ‘world-famous’ homemade popsicles and cookies. Their table is always the place for great laughter. Please also welcome our newest members: Anaira, Aarohee, Zara, Arya, and Krish. They have been part of our activities for a while, and we are very glad to have them formally join the team.
