Our First Racquet members Ricky, Ruiti, and Stanley had the incredible opportunity to attend and represent our organization at the First National Youth Leadership Certificate Program, organized by the University of Houston. The event brought together young leaders from across the city to learn essential leadership skills, connect with peers, and gain hands-on experience in collaboration and problem-solving.
Throughout the program, we participated in a workshop designed to strengthen our leadership abilities. We also listened to many professors and college students talk about various topics from operations, to fundraising, to how students can get involved.
Overall, our members were able to promote First Racquet and its mission to provide tennis equipment to Angolan athletes, network with other rising nonprofit organizations, and learning how to improve leadership within our organization. It was an amazing experience and we hope to join again in the future!
