First Racquet’s Spring Slam: Another Charity Open in the Books!

First Racquet celebrated the start of Spring on Saturday, March 30th with another UTR Charity Open, which, forgive us in advance for the basketball reference, was a slam dunk!

Similar to our last UTR event, we had a tremendous turnout of 55 players, which entailed a total of 82 matches across an 8-hour timeframe. As usual, we saw a range of ages, sizes, and skill level. Regardless, we witnessed dedication, enthusiasm, and integrity from each and every one of our players.

Stanley’s Concession Stand

Aside from the infectious spirit the players brought, our team, volunteers from Shadow Creek High School, sponsors Dr. Eric Ramirez and Tu Tran, and parents all contributed to the buzzing energy throughout the day. Let’s also not forget, Director, Stanley Huang’s, concession stand which expanded from two offerings to 10+ since the last event!

In addition to all our Greater Houston Area Directors in attendance, we had the pleasure of having our Oklahoma City Director, Leela Wailia, fly in for the day to join us in our success… stay tuned for her reflection which we will be sharing this coming Thursday!

As always, we want to give a big thank you and shout out to our team members, volunteers, sponsors, and long-standing partner, Shadow Creek High School! Our events and efforts are made possible by your generosity and support!
